A Brief History

The Koninklijke Nederlandse Politiehond Vereniging (KNPV), or Royal Dutch Police Dog Association, was established in the Netherlands in 1907 to enhance the breeding and training of dogs for police and military work. Over the years, the KNPV developed rigorous training programs and testing standards to ensure the dogs' capabilities in real-world scenarios. Today, KNPV-certified dogs, particularly Dutch Shepherds and Belgian Malinois, are renowned worldwide for their exceptional skills, intelligence, and reliability in demanding roles such as law enforcement, search and rescue, and security.
